New Delhi: Star Pakistani cricketer Babar Azam picked a T20 world XI including Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav from India but not Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah. In his team he has Rohit as an opener along with Pakistans Mohammad Rizwan and Suryakumar as number-four. Rohit Sharma Indias World Cup-winning T20 captain is the record holder for most T20I matches and most runs scored in T20I. In his 17-year career he scored 4231 runs in 159 matches with five centuries and 32 half-centuries. Surya Kumar Yadav has captained Indias T20I team since July 2024. In his 83 T20I matches he has accumulated 2598 runs. Babar Azams T20 world XI features Fakhar Zaman at number three and Jos Buttler at number five alongside Mohammad Rizwan. David Miller and Marco Jansen bat at six and seven respectively with Rashid Khan as the sole spinner. In a recent appearance on Zalmi TVs Babar Azam Podcast 2025 a world XI team was selected which included fast bowlers Pat Cummins Mitchell Starc and Mark Wood. The unexpected omission of Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah from the team surprised fans given their status as top all-format players. Kohli currently playing for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in IPL 2025 holds the record for the most T20I runs (4188 in 125 matches) a career highlighted by a recent 76-run innings (59 balls) against South Africa in the 2024 T20 World Cup. Jasprit Bumrah a 31-year-old fast bowler from Ahmedabad received the 2024 ICC Cricketer of the Year award and the T20 World Cup Player of the Tournament award in the previous year. Indias right-arm fast bowler had a successful T20 World Cup last year taking 15 wickets in eight matches. This included a Player of the Match award in a group stage game against Pakistan. World XI selected by Babar Azam: Rohit Sharma (India) Mohammad Rizwan (Pakistan) Fakhar Zaman (Pakistan) Suryakumar Yadav (India) Jos Buttler (England) David Miller (South Africa) Marco Jansen (South Africa) Rashid Khan (Afghanistan) Pat Cummins (Australia) Mitchell Starc (Australia) Mark Wood (England)
