Kothagudem: A fight between two bulls led to the death of five cattle by electrocution at Suraram village of Julurpadmandal in the district on Saturday.
According to the villagers, five cattle belonging to farmers Surya, Lakshmi, NageswaraRao and Venkateshwarlu of the village went to graze in the fields that day. While they were grazing, two bulls got into a fight to determine dominance in the herd.
They hit an electric pole so strong that the cement pole broke and fell down, pulling down the electricity distribution line to the ground.
The live wires fell on the three cows and the fighting bulls, all of which electrocuted on the spot. On receiving information from the villagers, Julurpadsubstation assistant engineer Sathish inspected the spot and assured to provide compensation to the farmers who were grieving over the loss of the cattle.
