
Celebrating H.D. Deve Gowda's 92nd Birthday
On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his warm wishes to former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda in honor of his birthday. Deve Gowda, who served as Prime Minister from June 1996 to April 1997, turned 92 years old on this special day.
Born on May 18, 1933, in his ancestral village of Hardanahalli in Hassan district, Deve Gowda has had a significant political career. He also held the position of Chief Minister of Karnataka from December 11, 1994, to May 31, 1996, leading the Janata Dal (Secular) party.
In a message shared on the social media platform X, Prime Minister Modi praised H.D. Deve Gowda, highlighting his visionary thinking and dedication to public service. He remarked that Gowda's insights and experiences on various topics serve as an inspiration to all. Modi wished him a long and healthy life.
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah also took to social media to congratulate the senior leader, expressing his prayers for Deve Gowda's good health and longevity. Additionally, senior BJP leader B.S. Yediyurappa and his son, B.Y. Vijayendra, who is the president of the BJP's Karnataka unit, also conveyed their birthday wishes to Gowda.
