For Nashik city, district, and the neighboring Ghat regions, the Meteorological Department has issued a “Orange” notice for Monday, May 19, and a “Yellow” alert until Thursday, May 22. As part of an active pre-monsoon system, thunderstorms, intense rain, and strong winds are anticipated.

For the last five days, Nashik and the surrounding districts have been battered by rain. Even if there was a short dry period in the city over the weekend, things are probably going to change today. Travel and everyday routines may be disrupted for residents, particularly working professionals, while the Orange warning is in effect, particularly in the afternoon and evening.

Nashik was still hot and muggy on Sunday. The Peth Road weather center reported temperatures of 33.2°C (highest) and 23.1°C (minimum), which caused discomfort due to the gloomy sky and sporadic breezes.

According to meteorologist Manikrao Khule, a low-pressure system is developing between 17° and 20° north latitude in three areas: the South China Pacific Ocean, the Bay of Bengal, and the Arabian Sea. This week, Maharashtra is predicted to have widespread thunderstorms and Valva rains, or stormy pre-monsoon showers, due to these systems and northward-moving cyclonic circulation.
