While Gill played an amazing knock of 93 unbroken runs as GT chased down the 200-run mark in only 19 overs, Sudharsan smashed a spectacular century. While Gill hit three fours and seven sixes, Sudharsan scored 108 runs in only 61 balls on the strength of 12 fours and four sixes.

Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan Make History
In IPL history, this was Gill and Sudharsan’s second partnership of 200 or more. The two had reached the milestone in a 2024 IPL match at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Both players scored hundreds in such a case.

Gill and Sudharsan were the first Indian duo to hit over 800 runs in an IPL season thanks to their pivotal performances.

Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan have 839 runs, the most by an Indian duo in an IPL season (GT, 2025)*.

Following the legendary Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), Gill and Sudharsan are only the second couple in IPL history to have multiple 200+ partnerships. But the GT players are the first opening duo to do it in IPL history. They are now the first players in history to chase a total in the IPL and set up a partnership of 200 or more.

As of right now, Sudharsan is the season’s leading scorer with 617 runs in 12 games at an average of 56.09, earning him the Orange Cap. With 601 runs at an average of 60.10, Gill is second on the list.
