Months of warm weather and the odd rain shower likely mean your are harbouring some pesky . Dandelions, mosses, meadowgrass and chickweed are some of the most common weeds that grow between paving slabs. While weeds can be removed by hand, this can be a laborious task that can strain your knees, back and neck.
Samantha Chuter, a gardener who was struggling to remove weeds from her patio, asked the group 'Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips' for guidance on removing weeds from her patio slabs. She asked, "Hi, does anyone know how to get rid of weeds between patio slabs? I think I have seen something about . Many thanks."

Samantha's post was inundated with responses but one of the most suggested solutions was to use salt either by itself or with vinegar and dish soap.
Debbie Lee said: "Big tub of cheap table salt is about 30p last time I looked. Dissolved some in water and use that after you've pulled what you can up then it goes straight to any roots... [they] stay away for ages."
Jacqui Margareto commented: "Salt and white vinegar. Tip is to do this on a warm sunny day, works a treat."
Gillian Bellard wrote: "Salt. It kills everything. Safe chemical to use in your garden... but be careful."
Marjorie Hardie suggested: "I poured boiling water on them and sprinkled salt on. Definitely shrivelled them up.
"Then, I got a gardening tool that looks like a wire brush with a long handle, and went over the cracks where they had been growing but were now brown and dried and got them out. Cheap and easy."
Salt kills weeds by disrupting their water balance, effectively dehydrating them. The salt creates a sterile zone where it has been sprinkled, which means weeds and other plants won't be able to grow there for an extended period of time.
Table salt can be bought for 75p from Waitrose, 69p from Sainsbury's and 40p from Ocado.
Other suggestions from Mrs Hinch fans included using boiling water, white vinegar by itself and a weed burner.
Dot Wallace said: "I have a portable weed burner that works well."
Gail Wilkinson commented: "Boiling water works a treat. Try it."
Ann Hall replied to the post: "White vinegar works overnight. Also safer for pets."
