New Delhi: SRH star pacer Harshal Patel wrote history with an amazing individual milestone during their game against Lucknow Super Giants on Monday. The right-arm fast bowler set a new record for reaching 150 wickets in the fewest balls bowled in Indian Premier League. He surpassed previous record holders by dismissing Aiden Markram with a deceptive slower yorker. This wicket taken on the 2381st ball of his IPL career surpassed Lasith Malingas previous record of 2444 balls for a similar achievement. Harshal Patel has joined the ranks of the fastest bowlers to reach 150 IPL wickets achieving the milestone in 2381 balls and 117 matches. This places him second fastest in terms of matches played surpassed only by Lasith Malinga. The top five fastest bowlers in terms of balls bowled are now Patel Malinga (2444 balls) Chahal (2543 balls) Bravo (2656 balls) and Bumrah (2832 balls). While Harshal achieved a notable milestone his and Sunrisers Hyderabads overall performance was underwhelming. Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) set a challenging 205/7 thanks in part to strong performances from their key international players. The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) bowling attack struggled with one bowler conceding 49 runs from four overs. Mitchell Marsh Aiden Markram and Nicholas Pooran continued their strong performances with another impressive showing. Marsh Markram and Pooran each achieved significant batting milestones for their IPL team. Marsh and Markram both scored over 60 runs and Pooran contributed a rapid 45. This performance established a new IPL record as they became the first international trio to each surpass 400 runs in a single season playing for the same franchise.
