SBI Latest FD Interest Rates: The country's largest public sector bank, State Bank of India (SBI), has once again shocked its customers. SBI has once again reduced the interest on fixed deposits (FD). The new rates have come into effect from May 16, 2025. The bank has cut FD rates by 20 basis points, i.e., 0.20 per cent, for all tenures. SBI had also cut interest rates on April 15 last month.

After the cut, SBI is offering interest between 3.30 per cent and 6.70 per cent per annum for common citizens. This reduction will apply to FDs of less than Rs 3 crore. Earlier, the bank was offering interest ranging from 3.50 per cent to 6.90 per cent for tenures ranging from 7 days to 10 years.

7 days to 45 days – 3.30 percent
46 days to 179 days – 5.30 percent
180 days to 210 days – 6.05 percent
211 days to less than 1 year – 6.30 percent
1 year to less than 2 years – 6.50 percent
2 years to less than 3 years – 6.70 percent
3 years to less than 5 years – 6.55 percent
5 years to 10 years – 6.30 percent

Reduction in the Amrit Vrishti scheme also

SBI has also reduced the interest rate by 0.20 percent on its special FD scheme, Amrit Vrishti. According to the bank's website, the Amrit Vrishti scheme is for 444 days, in which the interest rates for the general public have been reduced from 7.05 percent to 6.85 percent.
