The chilling documentary 'Confessions of a Parent Killer' will debut on Paramount Plus come June 12, offering an unprecedented glimpse into the case of Virginia 'Ginny' McCullough who killed her own parents.
For the first time since her arrest, Ginny breaks her silence about the homicides and the film will showcase letters penned by her both before sentencing and post-conviction.
On the fateful day of September 15, 2023, then 35 year old Ginny was apprehended in Great Baddow, Essex, for her parents' murder. In a surprising twist, she admitted to her transgressions outright, remarking to police offices: "Cheer up, at least you've caught the bad guy."
Her confession revealed the murders took place nearly half a decade ago, with her parents' corpses hidden in their home ever since.
The special is packed with unique correspondences from Ginny, opinions from criminology authorities, and narratives from those in the community impacted by the crime. The documentary is also scheduled for broadcast on Channel 5 later in the year.

The sombre discovery of Lois and John McCullough's bodies, aged 71 and 70 respectively, were made concealed in sleeping bags within their home.
Subsequent to her trial, Ginny received a life sentence with a mandatory 36 years behind bars before eligibility for parole surfaces.
She accrued sizable debts through her deceased parents' credit cards and continued to collect their pension payments after they died.

Detective Superintendent Rob Kirby, who helms major crime investigations at Essex Police, remarked that this particular incident had left even seasoned homicide detectives thoroughly "shocked and horrified".
A missing persons' probe was initiated in September 2023 when the couple's GP expressed alarm over losing contact with them.
Detectives grew wary of Ginny due to her litany of dubious excuses concerning her parents' absence.
She ultimately admitted to constables that she concocted a "cocktail of drugs" to lethally poison her parents on June 17, 2019.
While the blend proved lethal for her father, her mother received a milder dose and fell into a deep sedation. The daughter proceeded to bludgeon her mother with a hammer and repeatedly plunged a kitchen knife into her chest.
Mr McCullough's remains were secreted within a "homemade mausoleum" composed of masonry blocks inside his study, whereas Mrs McCullough's body was encased in a sleeping bag stowed in an upstairs wardrobe.
Confessions of a Parent Killer airs on Paramount Plus on June 12.
