Intelligence Bureau Director Tapan Kumar Deka’s tenure extended one more year

Desk: Taking an important decision in terms of internal security of the country, the central government has extended the tenure of Intelligence Bureau (IB) director Tapan Kumar Deka for one year. Deka is a 1988 batch IPS officer and has been serving as the head of the country’s most important intelligence agency since July 2022.

Tapan Deka is known for playing an important role in strengthening anti -terrorism campaigns and intelligence. Under his leadership, IB has busted several important terrorist modules, which strengthened national security. The decision to expand the tenure was taken after the recommendation of the Ministry of Home Affairs and the President’s approval.

This expansion has come at a time when the country is facing many sensitive security challenges. In view of Deka’s experience and leadership ability, the government has once again expressed confidence in them. Under her leadership, IB is expected to make the country’s internal security stronger.
