The UK has unleashed a fresh set of sanctions against Russia, targeting in particular the country's military, energy and financial sectors. As he unveiled the 100 new sanctions against Moscow, Britain's foreign secretary David Lammy branded Russian President Vladimir Putin a "warmonger".
He said: "We urge him to agree a full, unconditional ceasefire right away so there can be talks on a just and lasting peace." This came as the war launched over three years ago by the Kremlin continues. Russian attacks overnight killed at least one civilian and injured 13 others across multiple regions, including in Donetsk Oblast. Ukrainian air defences intercepted 93 of 108 drones overnight, while drone strikes in Sumy damaged civilian infrastructure but caused no casualties.
