Nayyar was recently honored with the Best Composer award at the Sactown Movie Buffs Film Festival, recognizing his original scores for the Web Series Spring Town and the short film Paper Notice. Judges praised his compositions for their emotional depth, intricate orchestration, and seamless integration of diverse global influences—qualities that enriched the storytelling of both projects.
Expanding his credentials in film music, Nayyar has completed scoring a Hollywood-produced independent feature written and directed by celebrated filmmaker Kavi Raz. Known for his groundbreaking work and his memorable role as Mr. Singh in Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Raz brings a spiritually resonant narrative to life in this latest project. Nayyar’s score is crafted to enhance the film’s emotional depth and cultural richness. Currently in post-production, the narrative-driven feature is slated for a worldwide theatrical release between July and August 2025.
In addition to his film and TV work, Nayyar’s presence on stage continues to make waves. He was recently invited by Instant Karma Events, a key organizer of Bollywood playback singer Sunidhi Chauhan’s I Am Home U.S. concert tour, to perform at her official press conference in the Bay Area.
Opening the event, Nayyar performed a medley of Sunidhi Chauhan’s hit songs on his LED lighted saxophone, captivating the audience with his expressive playing and vibrant stage presence. He also played a special rendition of her recently released track—a fresh take on the classic song “Ek Main Aur Ek Tu Hai,” featured in the upcoming musical drama series Hai Junoon. Witnesses say the performance left Sunidhi visibly astonished. She reportedly asked how he managed to deliver such dynamic arrangements on a single instrument. After the performance, Nayyar gifted her a signed copy of his debut album, Breaking Barriers—a moment he described as deeply meaningful in his musical journey.
Nayyar also recently performed at a high-profile gathering hosted by Indian-American community leader Ajay Bhutoria, with distinguished guests including Dr. Nishikant Dubey, a senior Member of Parliament from India, Fremont Mayor Raj Salwan, and Council Member Kathy Kimberlin. At the event, Nayyar performed patriotic classics like Maa Tujhe Salaam and Jai Ho, earning warm applause. Dr. Dubey honored him with an award for his musical contributions.
One of the most memorable moments came unexpectedly on Mother’s Day, when Nayyar was called to perform at an event hosted by AK Sharma and Bollywood Events where a veteran Bollywood actress Hema Malini was the guest of honor. Despite having no prior rehearsal and being unfamiliar with some of the songs, Nayyar adapted effortlessly, accompanying Malini live. In a spontaneous moment, he requested they include Tune O Rangeele Kaisa Jadoo Kiya in the setlist—a suggestion Malini welcomed. Their impromptu duet was praised as a perfect blend of spontaneity and musical synergy. For Nayyar, sharing the stage with Hema Malini was a dream come true.
Known for his philosophy of music as a universal language, Neil Nayyar continues to apply his diverse talents across multiple domains—from film scoring to live performances with iconic personalities. His recent accomplishments underscore his growing impact and versatility in the global music scene
