Chief Granthi of the Golden Temple Giani Raghbir Singh has rejected the claim of Indian Army Lieutenant General Sumer Ivan D’Cunha that air defense guns were deployed in the sacred site. D’Cunha has claimed that permission to deploy these guns was taken from the Chief Granthi and the management. He had said this step was taken to protect it from the drone and missile attacks by Pakistan and the attacks were foiled by the defense guns in the sky.

Giani Raghbir Singh said he was not even in the country at the time when permission is being said to have been taken. He accused the army officer of lying. Apart from this, he has demanded SGPC to conduct an inquiry in this matter.

The acting Jathedar of Akal Takht Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj also claimed that nothing has happened as claimed by the army officer. The SGPC Chief said that no such permission was sought and neither has any such incident happened.

In the interview, D'Cunha had also said that the whole of Pakistan is in the range of India and even if the Pakistani army shifts its headquarters anywhere. If India wanted to attack, they would not be able to escape. He said that Pakistan's army would have to find a 'deep hole' in which it could hide.
