New Delhi: Chennai Super Kings suffered another defeat in IPL 2025 when Rajasthan Royals defeated them by 6 wickets at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. This was CSKs 10th defeat this season making it clear that both the teams are out of the playoff race. However in this match veteran captain MS Dhoni achieved a historic feat. He may have scored only 16 runs in 17 balls but during this time he created a new record in IPL by hitting a six. Dhoni has now become the player to hit at least one six in the most innings in IPL history. He achieved this feat in 136 innings while Rohit Sharma did so in 135 innings. With this Dhoni has also become the fourth Indian player to hit 350 sixes in IPL history. Only Rohit Sharma Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav are above him. Dhonis achievement was special for the audience especially in a match when there was nothing to lose or gain for the team. Talking about the match Chennai had a bad start. Yudhvir Singh put CSK under pressure by dismissing Devon Conway and Urvil Patel in the second over itself. Ayush Mhatre played a quick innings of 43 runs but he too could not last long. Ashwin and Jadeja also returned cheaply. Dewald Brevis and Shivam Dubey handled the innings to some extent but in the last overs Rajasthan bowlers made a brilliant comeback and stopped Chennai at 187 runs. Yashasvi Jaiswal gave a quick start to Rajasthan Royals chasing the target. He scored 36 runs in 19 balls. After his dismissal Vaibhav Suryavanshi and captain Sanju Samson took charge of the innings and made a half-century partnership. Suryavanshi scored 57 runs in 33 balls and this was his second half-century of this season. Ravichandran Ashwin made the match exciting by taking the wickets of Samson and Suryavanshi in the same over. But Dhruv Jurel played a quick innings of 31 runs and gave Rajasthan a 6-wicket win. An emotional moment came after the match when Suryavanshi touched MS Dhonis feet and took his blessings the video of which went viral on social media.
