
Apple has released the iPadOS 17.7.8 update. This update has been brought especially to fix those security flaws that were found in the previous version and that could pose a serious threat to the security of the users' devices. The iPadOS 17.7.7 version released a few days ago was withdrawn due to many problems. These included not being able to log in with Touch ID and frequent reset of some apps. Now the new 17.7.8 update removes all these problems. The build number of the update is 21H440.

Security flaw in AirDrop - Due to a problem, an app could read arbitrary file metadata. This has been fixed by new permission control.
“Double Free” bug in Audio component - This bug could suddenly shut down the system. Apple solved this problem by implementing better checking.
Flaw in iCloud Document Sharing - In this, iCloud folder sharing could be enabled without permission. Now this problem has been fixed with additional enforcement.
Access to Notes from Lock Screen - Anyone could access Notes by touching the device. Now this has been stopped through better authentication.
Many problems related to Kernel - Leaking of sensitive system data, corruption of Kernel memory, sudden shutdown of apps, all these have been improved, and memory handling has been strengthened.
Apart from this, many security-related problems were also found in features like Mail Addressing, Parental Controls, StoreKit, Weather, and WebKit with this update, which have been completely fixed.
