Jobe Bellingham is expected to decide on his future soon, with Borussia Dortmund having identified him as their top transfer target after securing Champions League qualification.
After clinching fourth place in the Bundesliga and a spot in next season’s Champions League in dramatic fashion on the final matchday, Borussia Dortmund now head into the summer with increased financial flexibility.
Their top transfer target is Sunderland midfielder Jobe Bellingham, who is expected to make a decision on his future following his club’s Championship playoff final against Sheffield United on Saturday, according to Sport Bild.
If Bellingham does leave Sunderland, a transfer fee of around €25 million is likely to be required.
The 19-year-old – brother of former Dortmund and current Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham – has attracted interest from a long list of teams.
Alongside Dortmund, clubs such as Inter Milan, AC Milan, several Premier League sides, RB Leipzig, and Eintracht Frankfurt are reportedly monitoring the talented central midfielder.
Despite the competition, Dortmund are thought to be in a strong position. Bellingham is said to be open to a move to the Bundesliga, influenced by his brother’s successful spell in Germany and the prospect of regular first-team football at the Westfalenstadion.
Champions League participation – and a potential place in the FIFA Club World Cup, should the transfer be completed in time – adds to Dortmund’s appeal as a destination for one of England’s brightest young talents.
