Harnandipuram Ownship Scheme: The Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) approved the purchase of land from farmers at a price four times higher than the circle rate at its 169th board meeting, paving the way for the upcoming launch of the Harnandipuram Housing Scheme. This acreage is spread among five Ghaziabad villages. This would cost the authorities Rs 2384 crore.

Ten percent of the developed plots on the land purchased for the project will also be distributed to farmers.

GDA Chairman and Divisional Commissioner Rishikesh Bhaskar Yashod presided over the 169th board meeting of the GDA, which took place on Tuesday at the Divisional Commissioner’s Office Auditorium in Meerut. During the meeting, more than twenty-three ideas were adopted after discussion.

A committee headed by the DM was established to determine land pricing for Harnandipuram, according to GDA Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh, who attended the meeting. Last September, 2024, the district’s circular rate was updated. The villages of Mathurapur, Shamsher, Champatnagar, Bhanera-Khurd, and Nangla Firoz Mohanpur are the ones where land acquisition will take place.

The meeting was attended by GDA Vice President Atul Vats, ADM Finance Saurabh Bhatt, Additional Secretary Pradeep Kumar Singh, and Chief Engineer Manvendra Singh.
