At the Etihad, an era is coming to an end. It seems that someone finally gave Kevin De Bruyne a chance to speak.
As he said goodbye to the Etihad supporters in their season-ending home game, the outgoing Manchester City midfielder finally had time to revisit the exciting 2017 chapter in a humorous and sentimental way.
After defeating Bournemouth 3-1 at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday, City said farewell to their club hero by honoring De Bruyne with a special post-match ceremony.

The Belgian had a rare moment of emotion after being given a guard of honor by teammates, seeing a montage on the big screen, and listening to his loyal supporters screaming his name.
Reminiscent of his famous outburst, De Bruyne lightened the atmosphere with a humorous tone when given the microphone to address the audience.
The audience erupted in amusement as the Belgian cheekily said, “I think after ten years, it was about time that somebody let me talk a bit.”
“It’s time to part ways. We love you, De Bruyne and his family, and we’ll see you soon. I’ll be back.”
With his humorous story, he recalled an event from 2017 in which De Bruyne was restrained from approaching the referee at halftime of a Champions League group stage encounter against Napoli.
City took a 2-0 lead at halftime, but just before the final whistle, De Bruyne was booked and had to be escorted off the field by Fernandinho and David Silva while yelling, “Let me talk!”
“You see, I’m an angry man on the pitch,” De Bruyne remarked in a previous Bleacher Report interview when questioned about the incident.
“I believe the referee gave me a yellow card for something, and I wanted to ask him, ‘Why in the hell did you give me a yellow card?'”
“I feel like I have two distinct Kevins inside of me while I’m playing. Sometimes I’m a little bastard on the field.
After an illustrious run of success that included six Premier League titles, five League Cups, two FA Cups, and the 2023 Champions League, the famous Belgian departs Manchester this summer.
He established himself as one of the Premier League’s finest players with 108 goals and 177 assists in more than 400 games.
