Gmail New Update: Google has made many interesting announcements in its annual tech event Google I/O 2025, one of the major updates of which is related to Gmail. Google's email platform is now smarter than ever. The company has integrated Gemini AI into Gmail, so that the Smart Reply feature will now recognize the way the user replies and prepare the answer in the same tone.

How will the new Smart Reply be?

Now the Smart Reply feature of Gmail will not be limited to just short replies. With the help of Gemini AI, it will be able to scan email threads, old mails of the user and even the relevant documents present in Google Drive. Based on this, it will understand how the user usually replies, formal or informal, and will suggest a reply accordingly.

How will the experience change?

Whereas earlier Smart Reply used to give a short reply based only on the existing mail thread, now the same reply will be customized according to the user's tone and conversation style after thinking deeply. For example.

If you are mailing your boss, then this feature will prepare the reply in formal language.

While talking to friends or acquaintances, it will suggest light and casual answers.

What will Gemini do?

Gemini will now prepare the reply by understanding the entire situation of the user's conversation. It will gather necessary information by reading long mail threads, and will also take data from Google Drive and use it in the reply. Its purpose is that every reply should not only be accurate, but also according to the user's personality and context.

When and where will this new feature be available?

This Smart Reply feature will initially be launched in English language on web, iOS and Android platforms. It will be introduced as an alpha version in Google Labs in July 2025. It is expected that it will be rolled out to all users by the third quarter of this year.
