and stepped out at a yesterday on behalf of , and made a surprising new revelation about their three children. The Prince and Princess of Wales were handed two Jellycat toys by the brother of , in her memory at the party, after the couple met Liz last year.

When handed the lemon pie and pickled onion jelly cats from Mateo, William explained that his children go "crazy" for the toys, which he said were like "gold dust". The Prince, 42, said: "These are like gold dust. Are you sure you want to give it to me? My children go crazy for these. They are children's currency."

Liz Hatton, who sadly passed away in November after battling Desmoplastic Small Round Cell Tumour, was a big fan of the cuddly toys and would reportedly give them to people who made her happy.

The young photographer met William and Kate, 43, last year when they invited her to at Windsor Castle.

Liz and her family, including her parents Vicky and Aaron, then met the royals afterwards and are believed to have struck up a special bond.

After Liz's invitation to photograph a ceremony at Windsor Castle was made public knowledge, the young photographer was given a number of opportunities to explore her love of photography, including at red carpet events.

Speaking about how much that initial opportunity meant to Liz, yesterday: "You changed her life for the better, you changed ours too because our memories are all positive."

Kate, who was diagnosed with cancer last year and , had previously called Liz an inspiration.

The Prince and Princess of Wales were greatly saddened by and issued a statement on social media.

They wrote at the time: "We are so sorry to hear that Liz Hatton has sadly passed away. It was an honour to have met such a brave and humble young woman. Our thoughts and prayers are with Liz's parents Vicky and Aaron and her brother Mateo at this unimaginably difficult time. W & C."
