In an exciting preview of one of this year's most highly anticipated TV events, the stars of Outlander have converged with the cast of its forthcoming prequel series, Outlander: Blood of My Blood.

For the past decade, Claire (played by Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) have been the central figures of Starz' hit time-travelling historical drama.

However, as Outlander expands for the first time, following seven captivating seasons, four fresh faces are set to portray the roles of Claire and Jamie's parents in the upcoming prequel.

This August, Harriet Slater and Jamie Roy will star as Ellen MacKenzie and Brian Fraser, Jamie's parents, while Hermione Corfield and Jeremy Irvine will play Julia Moriston and Henry Beauchamp, Claire's parents, in Blood of My Blood.

Outlander's official Instagram account has announced an in-depth conversation between the original and new cast members to preview the prequel series.

A sneak peek of the event, set to be released on 1st June to coincide with World Outlander Day, features Slater candidly remarking: "We've got some big boots to fill!"

Sophie Skelton, who portrays Claire and Jamie's daughter Brianna, responded sweetly, "Welcome to the clan!"

The caption accompanying the post teased: "Witness the casts of #Outlander and #BloodOfMyBlood come together for the first time to welcome a new generation of Frasers, MacKenzies, and Beauchamps, and explore the ties that bind their stories."

The news sparked an outpouring of enthusiasm among fans in the comments section, with many expressing their eagerness to watch the panel discussion.

One Instagram user gushed: "Well, the cast of blood of my blood already has my heart."

A fellow fan chimed in: "The whole family together. Nothing could ever beat this."

Another overjoyed fan exclaimed: "My heart is melting and bursting at the same time [you're] tearing my guts out [crying emoji]."

A fourth enthused: "I'm so excited for this!!! Will be EPIC Eeeeeeek!"

Meanwhile, a fifth fan couldn't contain their excitement, saying: "Ahhhh this is going to be EPIC!"
