
New Delhi. On Wednesday, in IPL 2025, Mumbai Indians defeated Delhi Capitals and confirmed their place in the playoffs. Along with the defeat, a Delhi player has been fined for violating the IPL code of conduct. Delhi fast bowler Mukesh Kumar was fined 10 percent of the match fee.
Mukesh was also given a demerit point for the violation of Level one under Article 2.2 which is to the misuse of cricket equipment or clothes, plains or fixtures and fittings during the match. Delhi Capitals fell out of the playoff race after losing 59 runs to Mumbai Indians in Wankhede on Wednesday. Mumbai Indians became the fourth team to qualify for the playoffs with this victory. Earlier, Gujarat Titans, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Punjab Kings have qualified.

A IPL release said, “Mukesh Kumar has accepted the violation of level one of Article 2.2 and the penalty of match referee.” According to this, ‘The decision of the match referee is valid for a violation of the code of conduct. Mukesh gave 48 runs in his four overs on Wednesday and took two wickets. His last over scored 27 runs with three sixes and two fours.
