A 40-year-old actress who has acted in high-profile Tamil and Bollywood films has filed a complaint with the Malad police against a “Telegram channel” for allegedly stealing, altering, and selling her private photos and videos online for a high price.

The actress said in an exclusive interview with Mid-Day that she discovered a Telegram user around a month ago. “I have been extremely distressed by this entire incident,” she stated. “I was horrified to discover that someone had gotten hold of my private photos and videos, altered them, and is now trying to profit from them. It serves as a stark reminder of how exposed we are all in the digital age and a flagrant invasion of my privacy.

She said that she was worried about the effects such acts would have on one’s reputation and mental health. We are often singled out as public personalities, but this goes beyond trolls and rumors. Cyber exploitation is what it is. Not just for me, but for everyone who has experienced this kind of online abuse, I want to lead by example by speaking out and pursuing justice,” she said midday.

According to the May 20 FIR submitted to the Malad police station, “My manager informed me that I would need to pay a certain amount in order to be added to the group ‘NEW Cycle On Road 00,’ and that it is unknown who created that group.” In addition, my manager informed me that “Mr. Rocky RK” is the name of the individual who posted my naked picture to the group. His username is @Rts-Admin01, and his user ID is 782231392.

The actress claims that the accused has been selling her naked images and movies to high-end groups on Telegram for R50,000 and R1 lakh, respectively, after altering her digital photographs and recordings. The description reads, “South actress, first time full uncut with face rubbing her face.” Members are further persuaded to stay in the Telegram channel in order to take advantage of “offers and updates.” “I’m not really sure who this individual is. “I’m starting to feel depressed,” the actress said. In the Telegram group, the aforementioned unidentified individual also disclosed his email address, [email protected]. Someone has been added to the group by my management to monitor the activities. The FIR, a copy of which is in the custody of Mid-Day, states, “My naked pictures and videos from my personal mobile phone have also been hacked and shared in the group.” The actress has provided many pieces of evidence, including color images and screenshots from the Telegram channels, according to sources at the Malad police station.

“The actress came to us with a complaint and provided pieces of evidence,” a senior officer at the Malad police station said in the middle of the day.
