On Thursday, Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar said that alternative medicine originated in India and is now widely used.

In order to make India’s ancient scriptures understandable and relevant to today’s issues, Dhankhar advocated for an emphasis on alternative medicine and evidence-based validation.

“We are a nation with a difference,” Dhankhar said during a speech at Raj Bhavan in Goa. We shall become anchored in our roots, which we are rediscovering. Since alternative medicine originated in India, I place a lot of emphasis on it. It is now being used rather widely.

Our old literature shouldn’t be restricted to libraries. They are not intended for a library shelf. They are intended to be extensively shared. Let’s use contemporary scientific methods to do study, innovate, and rethink classic concepts. To make these riches available and relevant to today’s issues, let’s seek evidence-based validation, digitization, translations, and interdisciplinary research,” he said.

The world center for traditional medicine in Jamnagar was praised by the vice president.

The World Health Organization’s recognition of it via the establishment of a worldwide center for traditional medicine in Jamnagar, Gujarat, makes me very delighted. “What a potent acknowledgement of our systems like Ayurveda’s universal relevance,” he stated.

“It’s time for us to reflect on our history, our Vedas, our Upanishads, and our Puranas, and to teach our children about the breadth of our civilization from birth,” Dhankhar said.

“We are celebrating today, those who epitomize knowledge — Charak,” Dhankhar remarked, speaking to the crowd after putting the laws into service. In the Kushan Kingdom, Charak served as a royal physician. Ayurveda’s fundamental document, the Charak Samhita, was written by Charak, who is regarded as the founder of medicine. Sushrut, the father of surgery, was the other one. I got to see what you had included in your paintings. surgical tools back then, so we must constantly keep that in mind and move ahead. Another well-known figure, Dhanvantari, was a follower of Sushrut. Let everyone, especially our impressionable brains, find inspiration and motivation in the lives and deeds of Charaka and Sushruta.

“I wish to also focus on, also highlight a particular cultural trait,” the vice president said, reflecting on the importance of embracing our old wisdom. It’s a characteristic of our culture. There is a belief among certain segments of our society.

“This trait has no place in modern India,” he added, adding that everything old or Indic is backward. This characteristic is out of date. The world is aware of how important we are. It’s time for us to realize it as well. We cannot afford to think of the West as progressive and contemporary. You will discover that the present situation is far from it. The center is India. Dhankhar said, “The International Monetary Fund was correct and must have stated, with considerable difficulty, that we are a center of excellence.”

“We are a hot place for investment prospects and golden chances. Given this, let’s have faith in Indic circumstances. We’re way behind West. They are learning from us, in their own minds,” he remarked.
