UP Weather: All districts in east and west Uttar Pradesh, including the capital city of Lucknow, will have light to moderate rain starting on Friday, according to the Meteorological Department.

Up to May 27, cloudy conditions with mild to moderate rain, thunder, and lightning are predicted. Strong winds and precipitation are expected across the Terai and eastern areas, including Lucknow. Hot westerly winds will provide heatwave-like conditions in Banda, Jhansi, and the neighboring parts of Bundelkhand. In these regions, the highest recorded temperature has been above 45 degrees Celsius.

Varanasi, Ghazipur, Azamgarh, Mau, Ballia, Prayagraj, Pratapgarh, Sonbhadra, Mirzapur, Chandauli, Bhadohi, Jaunpur, Deoria, Gorakhpur, Sant Kabir Nagar, Basti, Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Siddharth Nagar, Gonda, Balrampur, Shravasti, Bahraich, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur, Hardoi, Lucknow, Barabanki, Amethi, Sultanpur, Ayodhya, Ambedkar Nagar, Saharanpur, Bijnor, Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur, and the surrounding areas are under a lightning alert.

The weather over the last 24 hours
In Terai regions including Bahraich, Gorakhpur, Maharajganj, Kushinagar, and Lakhimpur, there was rain, thunder, and lighting on Thursday.

Atul Kumar Singh, a senior scientist at the Meteorological Department, said that more than 35 districts in the eastern Terai area will see thunderstorms, high winds, and rain on Friday. In numerous regions, warnings for thunderstorms and gusts of up to 50 km/h have been issued at this period.

According to the Meteorological Department, the state’s maximum and lowest temperatures might drop by up to four degrees Celsius over the course of the next four days, providing much-needed respite for the locals.

The Meteorological Department reports that for the second day in a row, the daytime temperature in Banda and Jhansi was 45 degrees Celsius. Conditions in these regions were similar to a heatwave. But there is also a chance of rain in these places.
