Patna On Friday, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw left Patna Junction in an inspection vehicle headed for the Jamalpur Rail Engine Factory, where he would spend two days in Bihar.

Senior railway officials, Bihar Deputy Chief Ministers Vijay Kumar Sinha and Samrat Choudhary, and Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh, also known as Lalan Singh, were with him.

Given that the visit takes place just before the elections for the Bihar Assembly, it gains importance.

The Railway Minister will pay a visit to the Jamalpur Rail Engine Factory to lay the foundation stone for a Rs 79 crore Wagon Periodic Overhauling (POH) facility.

The capacity and efficiency of Indian Railways’ freight operations in the area would be improved once this facility is online, allowing for the monthly refurbishing of 545 to 800 freight wagons.

Furthermore, the Jamalpur facility is anticipated to be given the vital duty of repairing Vande Bharat trains and LHB coaches, which would represent a major improvement in its operational and technical skills.

Union Minister Vaishnaw will meet with employees, tour the factory’s technical divisions, and recognize the railway staff’s hard work.

His visit might mark a sea change in Bihar’s development of rail infrastructure.

Sources claim that the Railway Minister may disclose more information about upcoming rail projects, additional train services, and station renovations funded by the Amrit Bharat Yojana.

Enhancing passenger comfort, station facilities, and connection are anticipated to be the main priorities.

The Central government has announced a huge investment of Rs 70,672 crore for the improvement of Bihar’s railway infrastructure. New rail lines, gauge conversion projects, station renovations, electrification, and railway hubs that create jobs are all included in this budget.

In addition to improving the state’s connectivity and logistics, these projects are anticipated to promote economic development and employment creation, particularly in rural and semi-urban regions.

This visit is being widely monitored for its political message and developmental promises as Bihar gets ready for elections later this year.
