News about the Vande Bharat Train: On Thursday evening, a brand-new 16-coach semi-high-speed Vande Bharat train rake pulled into Gorakhpur Junction. On Friday, it will be cleaned and subjected to standard inspections in the washing pit. It is anticipated that the Gorakhpur–Ayodhya–Lucknow–Prayagraj line would use this cutting-edge rake.
The Gorakhpur–Prayagraj route will see the reassignment of the eight-coach Vande Bharat train to the Gorakhpur–Patna line. Railway officials are stepping up their efforts to expand Vande Bharat services in an attempt to make travel across Uttar Pradesh and Bihar more convenient, according to Jagran.com.
Even though there was already a 16-coach Vande Bharat train on the same route, it ran into mechanical issues and would be returned to Gorakhpur. Both 16-coach rakes are at the railway yard at the moment. The new train will only start running after a comprehensive first examination, according to officials. Although a debut date has not yet been set, the Gorakhpur–Prayagraj line is probably where the new rake will first operate.
The 8-coach train will start running the Gorakhpur–Patna line when it is removed from that route. The development of this new service is already well underway. Before arriving in Patna, the train will pass via Bettiah, Narkatiaganj, and Muzaffarpur. The train is scheduled to depart Gorakhpur at 4 AM and return by 9:30 PM on the same day, according to the current timetable. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw recently announced the impending inauguration of this new Vande Bharat service while visiting Gorakhpur and Bettiah.
Variants of Vande Bharat: 8-Coach and 16-Coach
Currently offered in 8 and 16 coach configurations, the Vande Bharat trains are completely air-conditioned and constructed using domestic technology. In addition to this, sleeper variants are being developed to improve travelers’ comfort during long-distance travel.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the first eight-coach Vande Bharat from Gorakhpur Junction on July 7, 2023. It once ran from Ayodhya to Lucknow, but as passenger demand increased, the line was expanded to Prayagraj.
With Gorakhpur as its headquarters, the North Eastern Railway zone is getting ready to extend Vande Bharat coverage throughout the majority of important lines. According to Jagran.com, there is a proposal for 17 more trains, including two Amrit Bharat trains and seven additional Vande Bharat trains. Future plans also call for more services via Varanasi to Prayagraj, as well as a pink sleeper version of the Vande Bharat to operate between Gorakhpur and Delhi.
