
A 19-person team has been announced by the Boxing Federation of India (BFI) for the 4th Thailand Open International Boxing Tournament, which will take place in Bangkok from May 24 to June 1.
The team, which consists of nine women and ten men, was chosen from the elite national camp that is now taking place at the Netaji Subhas National Institute of Sports in Patiala as the season progresses into important competitions. The 2025 Elite Men’s and Women’s National Championship silver medallists were given chances, according to the BFI, which said that it adhered to a selection criteria.
Powerhouse nations including China, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Japan, Korea, and host Thailand will participate in the Thailand Open, which is organized under the auspices of Asian Boxing. “With the team scheduled to depart for the Thailand Open, we’re entering a very exciting phase for Indian boxing,” said Ajay Singh, president and interim head of the BFI.
With the World Cup stage competition in Kazakhstan, the World Championship in Liverpool, the World Cup Finals in New Delhi, and numerous important tournaments, including the Asian Championship, scheduled for the end of the year, this is the start of an exciting international calendar.
