
Rajasthan Royals’ teenage sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi was given a hero’s welcome on his return home after a memorable debut season in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.
The 14-year-old, who emerged as one of the biggest talking points this year, received a warm reception on May 22, with the Rajasthan Royals sharing videos of the celebration on social media. In the clip, the youngster was seen cutting a cake and being cheered on by family.
Vaibhav created history this season by becoming the youngest ever centurion in men’s T20 cricket. He smashed 101 off just 38 balls against Gujarat Titans in Jaipur, a knock that made him the second-fastest centurion in IPL history.
He had earlier made his debut against Lucknow Super Giants, stepping in as a replacement for the injured Sanju Samson and hitting his first IPL ball for six.

Vaibhav, Mhatre included in India U-19 squad for England tour
On the back of his breakout IPL season, Vaibhav Suryavanshi has now been named in the India Under-19 squad for the tour of England in June-July. The side will be led by Mumbai’s Ayush Mhatre, another exciting teenager who made his first-class debut this season and turned heads with the Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2025.
India U-19 will play a 50-over warm-up match, a five-match youth ODI series, and two multi-day matches against England U-19. The 16-member squad also includes players like Vihaan Malhotra (Punjab), Abhigyan Kundu (vice-captain and wicketkeeper), and top performers from the recent youth series against Australia. Mhatre and Suryavanshi headline a promising lineup, all eligible for the 2026 U-19 World Cup in Zimbabwe and Namibia.

India Under-19’s England tour will begin with a warm-up match on June 24 at Loughborough University. The ODI series runs from June 27 to July 7, while the two youth Tests are scheduled for July 15 and July 20 in Beckenham and Chelmsford, respectively.
