Donald Trump has claimed a "major prisoner swap" between Russia and Ukraine "could lead to something big". Posting on Truth Social shortly before details were announced by Ukraine, the US President said: "A major prisoners swap was just completed between Russia and Ukraine. It will go into effect shortly. Congratulations to both sides on this negotiation. This could lead to something big???"
Meanwhile Vladimir Putin was forced to deploy electronic warfare units directly at the Kremlin after Ukraine launched what Russian sources called the "most massive air raid on Russia since the beginning of the Second World War." The fresh escalation - involving more than 750 drones launched between Tuesday and Thursday - triggered the closure of major airports in and around Moscow, paralysing air traffic and infuriating travellers. Some drones were intercepted, but others broke through defences, striking military and symbolic targets deep inside Russian territory.
