'Bhool Chuk Maaf' Review: Rajkummar & Wamiqa's Time-Loop Comedy Is 'Sloppy' & 'Unbearable'

Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi’s time-loop comedy entertainer Bhool Chuk Maaf earlier set for April 10, 2025, release but was later pushed to May 9, 2025.

However, just a day before the release, the makers Maddock Films cancelled the theatrical release and instead announced the OTT release of the film on May 16, 2025. But, a day later, India’s biggest multiplex chain PVR Inox sued Maddock Films for breach of contract.

As result of that, the court stayed film’s OTT release and a week later, the makers and PVR Inox came to a mutual understanding and released an official statement announcing the film’s new release date i.e. May 27, 2025, that too in theatres.

It was also reported that the film will be out on OTT just after two weeks i.e. during the June 6 weekend.

Bhool Chuk Maaf is directed by Karan Sharma and as it released in theatres on May 23, the film has been receiving mixed to negative response from the audiences on social media.

Sharing the review, a social media user wrote, “#BhoolChukMaaf Review: POOR.. RATING - 2/5* The Nibba-Nibbi love story, expressions and conversations between #RajkummarRao and #WamiqaGabbi are highly irritating and take away all the sensitivity out from an important Social topic. A film with literally zero Laughs. Boring.”

Another user reacted, “#BhoolChukMaaf is an odd little film. What begins as another plucky, pleasant small-town comedy (which consistently flirts with humour but never entirely delivers) gives way to a sloppily established time-loop film which only threatens to go to some interesting places.”

A third user wrote, “#BhoolChukMaaf UNBEARABLE Rating - ( 1.5 ) Bhool Chuk Maaf is an extremely weak film. The writing and direction is so poor that although the film tries to be funny throughout, it never actually manages to make you laugh. The dialogues are outdated, and the concept lacks strength.”

There were a few others who found the film “decent” and “hilarious” as one of them wrote, “A hilarious and super emotional ride #Bhoolchukmaaf is a well made film. The simple story is the biggest strength of the film #WamiqaGabbi is good but @RajkummarRao is outstanding as usual. Maddock has another winner up their sleeves. Watch it and enjoy. Brilliant.”

A second user wrote, “#BhoolChukMaaf #FilmReview (3.5 Stars) Bhool Chuk Maaf for Endless Moments and Never Ending Time Loop.”
