Ben Duckett Scores Quick Test 100 Vs Zimbabwe: England Cricket Team opening batter Ben Duckett has scored a run-a-ball century on Day 1 of the one-off England vs Zimbabwe Test match, being played at the Trent Bridge Stadium in Nottingham.

The three Lions are taking on Zimbabwe in a one-off four-day Test match. This match can be seen as preparation for England for the upcoming blockbuster summer Test series at home against India.

With many English players currently playing in the IPL, this England squad could have been a bit lighter compared to the regular squad, but most English players playing in the IPL do not play much Test cricket, making this nearly the first-choice squad with the likes of Joe Root, Ben Stokes, Harry Brook, and Ben Duckett in the side.

Ben Duckett Scores Quick Test 100 Vs Zimbabwe

Speaking of Duckett, as an opener, he will play a crucial role for his side in the upcoming five-match series against India. He did get off to a fine start to the English summer with a century in his first Test of the season at home.

Duckett opened the batting with Zak Crawley after Zimbabwe won the toss and decided to bowl first. The two openers gave their team a brilliant start, both scoring 50s and taking this opening partnership past the 100-run mark.

While Crawley was playing at a decent pace for a Test inning, it seems that Duckett came into this match with an ODI mindset, scoring runs with a strike rate of around 100.

The diminutive opener ended up scoring a fine ton, doing so in 100 deliveries. This was one of the most effortless innings seen in international cricket in some time.

Ben Duckett went on to make 140 runs off 134 deliveries before being dismissed by all-rounder Wesley Madhevere. He had hit 20 4s and two 6s in his inning. By the time he got out, England had made 231 runs in just 41.3 overs.

On the other end, Zak Crawley is still not out and heading towards his own hundred, currently playing at 82 off 122.
