Washington, DC: The Trump administration’s decision to prevent Harvard University from accepting overseas students has shocked and dismayed students.

George Washington University student “I was definitely shocked, and I think there is a reason to worry about it spreading to other universities in America,” the student told the media report. I hope this can be resolved before it spreads too much because I don’t believe it’s fair at all.”
“Like my friends, I was really shocked, not necessarily about other things that the Trump administration is doing, because every day there’s something,” said another George Washington University student. However, we were really shocked by this, particularly because we are students. I have a lot of faith that things will resolve themselves in due time. Since it recently occurred, it’s obviously quite new. However, I’m certain that something will sort itself out in a few months.
Another student described the order as “a shame,” saying, “To be honest, this order is a shame.” For myself and many other Americans who have attended American colleges, overseas students have played a significant role in our educational experiences. My life was shaped by a number of wonderful friends, including those from China, India, and Eastern Europe. We all worry about it, and it ought to be stopped, in my opinion. It is also a loss to all of the individuals who come to our country to study, as well as to American residents.”
“It’s kind of shocking,” another kid told the media report. It’s not really fair, in my opinion. Around the globe, many students put forth a lot of effort to attend the school of their choice. Therefore, I believe that everyone should have the freedom to decide whether to pursue their education in America or at home.
These comments come after the Donald Trump administration banned foreign students from enrolling at Harvard University.
Harvard University, in response to Trump’s directive, denounced the ruling as illegal and unjustified, stating that it “imperils the futures of thousands of students and scholars.”
As it looks for all possible remedies, the university has filed a lawsuit and said that it intends to get a temporary restraining order.
Harvard reaffirmed its commitment to upholding academic freedom and promised assistance to anybody affected by the ruling, reassuring its global community.
The White House said earlier Thursday that “Enrolling foreign students is a privilege, not a right.” The Harvard administration was charged with transforming “their once-great institution into a hotbed of anti-American, anti-Semitic, pro-terrorist agitators.”
White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson told CNN that “they have repeatedly failed to take action to address the widespread problems negatively impacting American students and now they must face the consequences of their actions.”
The Trump administration and Harvard have been at odds for months as the administration wants the university to end on-campus antisemitism and “racist ‘diversity, equity and inclusion’ practices.” It also wants the university to change its hiring and programming policies. Because it thinks they participated in the controversial campus demonstrations against the Israel-Hamas conflict, the administration has targeted international workers and students.
“Billions of dollars have been paid to Harvard,” US President Trump said Friday in an interview with the media from the Oval Office about the Harvard matter. How absurd is that? Additionally, they have an endowment of USD 52 billion. Harvard will need to make some adjustments.
