
Desk: Royal Challengers Bangalore faced Sunrisers Hyderabad team in the 65th match of IPL 2025 played at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. In this match, Hyderabad team managed to win by 42 runs. But after this match, the BCCI has taken big action against the captains of both teams. Both these captains made the same mistake during the match, which is very big to them.
During this match, a case of violation of the code of conduct came to light. In the match, Sunrisers Hyderabad, batting first, scored 231 runs in 20 overs. In response, the RCB team could score 189 runs and lost by 42 runs. But action has been taken against both the captains due to the slow over rate. In this match, both teams did not complete their overs within the stipulated time, due to which action was taken under the code of conduct of IPL.

RCB captain Rajat Patidar was fined Rs 24 lakh for violating the slow over rate for the second time this season. This was RCB’s second violation in this season, due to which the punishment was strictly strictly. Apart from this, the rest of the members of RCB’s playing XI, including the impact player, have also been fined 6 lakh rupees or 25 percent of their match fees (whichever is less). On the other hand, Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Pat Cummins was also fined for slow over rate. However, this was his team’s first violation in this season, so he was fined Rs 12 lakh. This action was taken under Article 2.22 of the IPL’s code of conduct, which is to the minimum over-rate violation.
