Xiaomi Overtakes Apple to Lead Global Wearable Band Market in Q1 2025:

Suspense crime, Digital Desk : As per the recent report given by Canalys, Xiaomi has regained its position as the highest seller of wearable bands worldwide. In the first quater of 2025, the company shipped 8.7 million units, surpassing its previous record by 44% year over year. This milestone has aided surpass Apple for the first time in since 2021.

Strategic Ecosystem Fuels Xiaomi’s Growth
The leading market in emerging technologies has attributed Xiaomi’s revenue increase to an enhanced ecosystem policy. Their new Redmi Band 5 was a bestseller, and coupled with the connectivity possibilities from the HyperOS platform, they performed especially well in the markets that needed affordable wearables the most.

Apple Slips to Second Amid Slower Growth
Apple was ranked second after shippng 7.6 million units which was a 5% increase in comparision to the last year in the same quarter. This gives Apple a 16% markeing share as compare to Xiaomi’s 19%, making it a USD 1 trillion company. Industry experts cite stalling innovation in Apple wearables as a major drawback, with most expectining a significant update in late 2025 as their smartwatch flagship turns ten.

Global Wearables Market Rebounds
The total growth of the wearable bands industry has increased up to 13% since last year, making it a total of 46.6 million units sold around the world. The sudden affordability surge and better health features across the brands is what the demand boost is mainly attributed.

Other Leading Performers in Q1 2025

Huawei increased sales to 7.1 million units, capturing third position, with the GT and Fit series as well as ardent tailored adoption of its Health app aiding performance.

Samsung’s sales surged by 74% to 4.9 million units, earning them fourth place, following strategic market penetration in both mid-range and premium tiers.

Garmin topped out the list with 1.8 million units earning steady 10% annual growth from its fitness-focused devices, placing them in the fifth position.
