Bundesliga Fantasy Team of the Season 2024/25
Samira Vishwas | May 25, 2025 1:15 PM CST

Harry Kane and Florian Wirtz have unsurprisingly made the Bundesliga Fantasy Team of the Season so far, but who joined them in the XI and how?

With the 2024/25 season over, tezzbuzz looks back at the top performing players in Fantasy. How many did you fit into your team?

Goalkeeper

Robin Zentner
Club: Mainz
Points: 4,531

Mainz were a revelation in 2024/25, with a first UEFA Champions League qualification remaining a distinct possibility until the final games of the season, and their eventual sixth-place finish still a cause for celebration. The 05ers’ campaign was backstopped by Robin Zentner, who made 106 saves (a league third-highest) which translated into 70 percent of his Fantasy points.

Defenders

Mitchell Weiser
Club: Bremen
Points: 7,150

Out of position (OOP) players are a Fantasy manager’s dream, and few are more advanced than the game might suggest than Mitchell Weiser. The Werder Bremen man started 28 of his 32 games at right wing-back, and was even up front for two matches. He returned five goals and eight assists – a phenomenal haul for a would-be defender.

Anthony Caci
Club: Mainz
Points: 6,233

The second Mainz player in this list, Anthony Caci played on either flank as well as filling in at left centre-back this season, but his all-round game made him a Fantasy asset, with the Frenchman hoovering up points for ground duels won (2,796), attacking actions (1,720) and build-up play (1,068). His 10m price tag looked steep at first, but Caci made it seem like a steal by the end of the season.

Maxi Mittelstädt
Club: Stuttgart
Points: 6,738

Another wing-back, and now Germany’s first-choice left-back, Maxi Mittelstädt contributed seven assists and one goal to Stuttgart’s season. The Swabian’s may not have been able to repeat last season’s heroics when they finished as runners-up to Bayer Leverkusen, but it wasn’t for the want of trying, at least not on Mittelstädt’s part.

Álex Grimaldo
Club: Leverkusen
Points: 6,816

Álex Grimaldo was a cheat code in Fantasy last season, costing only 10m and contributing 10 goals and 13 assists to Leverkusen’s maiden Bundesliga title win. He may have doubled in price whilst seeing his output decline to two goals and seven assists this term, but Grimaldo remained a fine pick in the game in 2024/25, twice cracking the 400-point mark single-handedly.

Midfielders

Michael Olise
Club: Bayern
Points: 8,814

The top-scoring player in the whole of Fantasy, Michael Olise’s real-world performances after joining Bayern Munich from Crystal Palace last summer were nothing short of incredible. The London-born France international might have been forgiven for needing time to adapt, but he duly hit 12 goals and 15 assists in the Bundesliga – second only to Harry Kane for attacking output – and all the more admirable from his position on the wing.

Watch: All of Olise’s Bundesliga goals so far

Joshua Kimmich

Club: Bayern
Points: 7,529

If Olise was Bayern’s flair player, Joshua Kimmich was the midfield metronome that kept the engine turning on their triumphant first season under Vincent Kompany. Kimmich invariably led Bayern out with Manuel Neuer injured, and led by example, with nearly half of his points (3,612) coming from his build-up play. His successful passes into the final third gave Olise and Kane the chance to shine, and, unlike previous seasons, rewarded Fantasy managers accordingly.

Granit Xhaka
Club: Leverkusen
Points: 6,791

Speaking of midfield string-pullers, Granit Xhaka was Leverkusen’s, with his two goals and seven assists complemented by a nearly even split between points for build-up play (2,624) and duels (2,212). The Switzerland captain also cost 15m – a relative steal, some 5m less than his nascent teammate Florian Wirtz…

Florian Wirtz
Club: Leverkusen
Points: 8,356

Wirtz is a generational talent, however, and has been linked with sone of the biggest clubs at home and abroad in recent weeks following Xabi Alonso’s announcement that he would be leaving for Real Madrid at the end of the season. Only injury stopped him from being the top Fantasy points scorer – he had the highest average points with 270 per game – and his 22 goal-involvements were supplemented by his overall involvement.

Ritsu Dōan

Club: Freiburg
Points: 6,986

The cheapest midfielder in this selection at 10m, Ritsu Dōan wasn’t just a budget-busting differential at the start of the season, but also a star performer who racked up 10 goals and seven assists from Freiburg’s right wing. His performances very nearly fired the Black Forest club into the Champions League – only a final day defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt denied them – and a price hike can be expected next year.

Forward

Harry Kane
Club:
Bayern
Points: 6,344

Kane finally has some silverware to his name, and his first Bundesliga title was richly deserved after the England captain also picked up his second consecutive Scorer with 26 goals – five clear of Serhou Guirassy (Dortmund) and Patrik Schick (Leverkusen). Forwards were proportionately less rewarded in Fantasy this season, but Kane defied that, as he has done doubters his whole career, to lead this particular line.
