
If you have not updated your Aadhaar card details in the last 10 years, then this news is very important for you. The UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) has given a golden opportunity to the founders to update for free, the last date of which has been fixed on 14 June 2025.
Aadhaar update is necessary every 10 years
As per the Aadhaar Enrollment and Update Regulation, 2016, it is mandatory for the founders to update their identity and address certificate every 10 years. After 14 June 2025, this service will not be free and for this a fee of Rs 50 will have to be paid or will have to go to the nearest base center.
How to update free? Learn easy way
If you want to take advantage of this facility, you can update online from Myadhaar portal without any fee. The process is as follows:
- Go to the browser and open the site:
- Login – Enter the Aadhaar number, fill the captcha and login with OTP.
- Click on the ‘Document Update’ option seen above to the right.
- Choose the document from the dropdown that you want to update – such as identity card or address proof.
- Upload files of less than 2MB in JPEG, PNG or PDF format.
- Review details and submit.
- You will get a Service Request Number (SRN) from which you can track the status.

Biometrics update? Learn way
If you want to update your photo, fingerprint or biometric details, then for this you have to go to the nearest base enrollment center as these details cannot be updated online.
