Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government has taken an important decision for Shikshamitras. This time during the summer holiday, a remuneration of six thousand rupees will be given to the teachers doing duty in the summer camp. Thousands of Shikshamitras of the state will get direct economic benefits with this decision, as well as their contribution will be recognized.

According to the order issued by the Basic Education Department of the state, this remuneration will be given only to those Shikshamitras, whose duty has been imposed in the summer camp. These summer camps will start from May 21 and run till June 10, which are being organized in secondary and junior level council schools.

Responsibility on lack of instructors

In upper primary schools, the responsibility of summer camp is generally given to the instructors, but in schools where the instructors are not available, this responsibility has been entrusted to Shikshamitras. District Basic Education Officer Virendra Kumar Singh said that under these circumstances, the duty of the Shikshamitras of the nearest school has been imposed, so that there is no obstruction in the learning process of children.

Creative activities for children

During the summer camp, students from class 6 to 8 are being included in various educational and creative activities. The objective of this initiative is to enrich children’s learning experience and keep them connected with teaching even during summer vacation.

Shikshamitras are remuneration for the first time in summer camp

This is the first time Shikshamitras have been given the responsibility of summer camp during summer vacation and in return they are also being given remuneration. This is not only a positive message for Shikshamitras, but also likely to improve their socio-economic situation.
