Important Visa Compliance Warning for Students

On Tuesday, the U.S. Embassy in India issued a critical alert for international students enrolled in U.S. educational institutions. The Embassy emphasized that students who 'withdraw, miss classes, or exit their study program' without notifying their respective schools risk having their student visas revoked.

In a message shared on X (formerly Twitter), the Embassy urged students to comply with their visa conditions and 'maintain your student status' to prevent any potential issues.

The Embassy's statement highlighted, 'If you withdraw, miss classes, or exit your study program without notifying your school, your student visa could be revoked, and you may lose the chance to apply for future U.S. visas. It is crucial to follow the terms of your visa and keep your student status intact to avoid complications.'

The Embassy reiterated the importance of adhering to visa regulations in a tweet: 'If you drop out, skip classes, or leave your program of study without informing your school, your student visa may be revoked, and you may lose eligibility for future U.S. visas. Always adhere to the terms of your visa and maintain your student status to avoid any issues.'

Increasing Number of Indian Students in the US

U.S. universities are increasingly popular among Indian students. In 2023, the U.S. consular team in India issued more than 140,000 student visas, the highest for any nation, marking a record growth for the third consecutive year.

Additionally, the U.S. Mission in India processed an impressive 1.4 million visas overall in the same year, highlighting the strengthening relationship and rising travel between the two nations.
