
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): District and Sessions court, Bhopal, on Tuesday convicted two men for land forgery and awarded 3 years rigorous imprisonment to each.
According to ADPO Neeraj Bhargava, JMFC Rahul Singh Yadav passed the order pronouncing Devendra Swaroop Bhatnagar and Awadhesh Singh Sisodia guilty under Section 420 to read with Section 34 IPC.
On June 09, 2012, Prem Narain Singh and R K Goyal – who had bought plots at Gulabi Nagar - filed separate complaints with Bagsewania police station alleging that they had been duped in name of plot allotment.
Singh in his complaint said that Awadhesh Singh Sisodia showed him plot no. 23 at Gulabi Nagar Housing Society claiming to be its owner and struck a deal to sell it. Singh paid Rs 7 lakh in cash for allotment and it was decided that the registry will be done after one month, however, Sisodia never turned up for the registry and disappeared.
Similarly, Devendra Swaroop Bhatnagar sold plot no 22 to R K Goyal and took Rs 7 lakh for allotment. Goyal in his complaint to SDOP said that Bhatnagar showed him 996 sq. ft plot no. 22 at Gulabi Nagar Housing Society claiming to be its owner.
He took Rs 7 lakh from him and signed a contract to sell the plot, but he kept delaying the registration. Later it was found that Bhatnagar was not the owner of the plot and he had cheated many people on pretext of selling the plot.
Cases were registered against the two under Section 420 read with section 34 of IPC at Bagsevinaya police station.
