Chhaygaon FC delivered a solid performance to beat Assam Police Football Team 2-0 in their Assam State Premier League match recently at Mirza Stadium. At half-time, the score was 0-0, but Chhaygaon came back strong in the second half, scoring two goals and keeping Assam Police from making a comeback.

Chhaygaon had better control of the game, keeping 53% of the ball, while Assam Police had 47%. Chhaygaon created more chances, taking four shots with two on target, whereas Assam Police managed only one shot and none were on target.

The match was physical at times, with both teams committing four fouls each. Chhaygaon received one yellow card, and Assam Police received three, but there were no red cards for either side. Chhaygaon was caught offside six times compared to Assam Police’s two, showing their attacking intent. Both teams won two corners each.

Titans were bowled out for just 72 runs in 19 overs, thanks to a disciplined bowling effort from Pacific Rays, led by G. Dignam who took three wickets for just 12 runs, supported by V. Field with two wickets for 11 runs and S. Weerasinghe with 2 for 20. Chasing 73, Pacific Rays faced early pressure but were steadied by S. Weerasinghe’s gritty 31 off 37 balls and a quick 13 off 11 balls from G. Dignam. Despite some tense moments, Pacific Rays managed to reach the target in 17.1 overs with two wickets in hand, securing a hard-fought win.

The Women's Japan Premier League (T20) is a professional women's cricket tournament taking place in Japan from May 27 to June 1. Featuring three teams and a total of 10 matches, the league follows the fast-paced T20 format, where each team is expected to face the others multiple times in a round-robin style competition.
