Shinde illustrated the sharp differences between the two countries in an interview with ANI, stating, “India exports talent and technology to the world, Pakistan exports terrorism; India is building trade corridors, Pakistan is building terrorism corridors; India is launching Chandrayaan and other satellites, Pakistan launches terrorists from its land.”

During the delegation’s meeting with Congolese lawmakers and officials, Shinde said that they had pledged support for India’s efforts to combat terrorism. “When we told the leaders here about Pakistan’s acts of supporting, sheltering and equipping dreaded terrorists and terror organisations, when we told them about the terror attacks that India has suffered over the years, they expressed their solidarity with India,” he said.

The team also included former Ambassador Sujan Chinoy, BJP leader SS Ahluwalia, Biju Janata Dal’s Sasmit Patra, Indian Union Muslim League’s ET Mohammed Basheer, Bansuri Swaraj, Atul Garg, and Manan Kumar Mishra, MPs from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The visit was fruitful, according to BJD MP Sasmit Patra, who also said that during the meeting, Congolese government leaders conveyed their sorrow over the severe terrorism that Pakistan had committed against India over the last forty years.

“The trip to the Democratic Republic of the Congo by the all-party team has been a huge success… We spoke with a number of parties, including the local government officials and the media, and everyone expressed astonishment and sorrow. The severe acts of terrorism that Pakistan has committed against India over the last forty years have pained them all, Patra added.

“It (the delegation visit to Congo) has ensured that they are going to echo our stance of strict zero tolerance against terrorism even on a global stage,” BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj remarked concurrently. Following our trips, both the UAE and the Democratic Republic of the Congo acknowledged that, on the one hand, there is India, which is now the fourth-largest economy in the world.

According to BJP MP Atul Garg, he held a minute of silence for the innocent people slain in the Pahalgam assault during their meeting with Berthhold Ulungu Ekonda Lukata, the head of the Foreign Affairs Commission.

“Today, the chairman of the Foreign Affairs Commission spent a minute of silence in remembrance of our innocent people who lost their lives in the Pahalgam assault. They pledged to raise awareness of India’s predicament in Africa and throughout the globe,” Garg added.

Furthermore, IUML MP ET Mohammed Basheer clarified that every dignitary was helpful and provided unwavering support, saying, “We had a series of discussions.” Everything has been explained. In their responses, the speaker, the ministers, the bureaucrats, and everyone else were quite helpful. Their responses were very motivating, and the House pledged our country’s unwavering support for India’s cause.

A team headed by Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde is in Congo to meet with authorities and inform them of India’s reaction to the Pahalgam terror assault on April 22 and its larger campaign against cross-border terrorism.
