In the world of cinema many pictures come and go but every once in a while there comes a picture that strikes all the right chords and leaves an impact like no other. However behind this blockbuster is often a tale that never comes out in the limelight. One such story is of a film that hit the theatres in 2011 and even after 14 years of its release the buzz around it hasnt faded. But whats unknown to the audience is that the star cast of this picture wasnt the one that the filmmaker imagined initially. However eventually it went to the star whose fate was destined for it. The film we are talking about is none other than Rockstar. Directed by Imtiaz Ali this film was released in 2011 and starred blockbuster star Ranbir Kapoor and actress Nargis Fakhri. The film turned out to be a career-defining one for Ranbir Kapoor and also propelled Nargis Fakhri to great success. Made on Rs. 60 crores this Imtiaz Ali collected Rs. 108 crores more than double its budget. The film revolved around the plot of a young man Jordan portrayed by Ranbir Kapoor whose heartbreak turned him into a rebel and made out a rockstar.  From the tragic love to A.R. Rahmans impeccable music and the impressive performance of the leads this film is the most celebrated. However whats interesting is that the lead of this film Nargis Fakhri was not the first choice of filmmakers. It was Deepika Padukone who was originally in Imtiaz Alis mind initially. He had full conviction that Deepika would be able to transcend the right emotions that film requires. But because of production delays and changing scenarios it eventually went to Nargis. But despite Nargiss debut she did an incredible job and won the hearts of million. Her performance is still praised and resonates with the audience today. Ranbir and Nargiss on-screen chemistry turned out to be massively successful and even today people hail this duos union. However despite that fans still wonder how the picture would have turned out if Deepika had taken the role considering the off-screen relationship of Deepika and Ranbir. Interestingly Rockstar wasn’t the only successful collaboration between Ranbir and Deepika. They have starred together in Bachna Ae Haseeno (2008) Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013) and Tamasha (2015) all of them making a mark at the box office and being the most beloved paring for fans. Even after 14 years of the film Rockstar continues to shine in its legacy and resonate with the audience Its story is proof that whatever is written in ones fate it will find its way.
