
Mumbai: In a meeting held with Labour Minister Aakash Fundkar, a delegation from the Cine & Artists Association presented key concerns regarding the working conditions of film and television artists. The minister responded positively, assuring that a dedicated committee will be formed to address the issues raised, with representation from all relevant stakeholders in Film City.
During the meeting, the association highlighted critical concerns such as:
Timely payment of remuneration for artists working on a contractual basis,
Regulation of working hours, and
Provision of conventional allowances.
Minister Fundkar affirmed that these issues would be reviewed constructively and that appropriate steps would be taken to ensure improvements.
The meeting was also attended by Principal Secretary of the Labour Department I.A. Kundan, Labour Commissioner Mr. Tummod, Deputy Secretary Mr. Kapadnis, and prominent figures from the entertainment industry including Poonam Dhillon, Padmini Kolhapure, Kanwaljit Paintal, Deepak Parashar, and Hetal Parmar.

This initiative marks a significant step toward ensuring fair and dignified working conditions for artists in the entertainment sector.
