However, for those accustomed to seeing the 62-year-old actor play the hero in blockbuster films, a rather different side of him is now available on in an intense action-thriller from 2004, Collateral.
Boasting an impressive cast, including Jamie Foxx, Jada Pinkett Smith, Mark Ruffalo, Debi Mazar and Bruce McGill, Collateral delves into the story of a taxi driver (played by Jamie Foxx) caught in an unexpected predicament when a contract killer boards his vehicle.
As per the official synopsis, it reads: "A cab driver realizes his current fare is a hit man who has been having him drive around from mark to mark until the last witness to a crime is dead.
"When the cabbie finally figures out the truth, he must prevent the assassin from wiping out his last witness without becoming the next in the professional killer's line of casualties."

Directed by the acclaimed Michael Mann, who is also notable for Heat, The Last of the Mohicans, and Ferrari, Collateral made a remarkable $220 million at the box office when it premiered on a $65 million budget, showcasing the film's timeless allure.
The film has garnered rave reviews online, with many hailing it as one of Tom Cruise's finest performances, reports
