Lucknow: A 3.59 lakh square feet land scam in Lucknow has come to light, involving fraudulent allotment of plots worth crores of rupees in the Gomti Nagar extension scheme.
An investigation revealed that plots were allocated to relatives of former LDA Vice Chairman BB Singh's wife, ex-Chief Engineer, zonal officers, and judicial authority staff. The Lucknow High Court has directed the authorities to submit a report on the probe and action taken.
The court order follows a four-year-long investigation into two housing societies, Himalayan Cooperative Housing Society and Bahujan Nirbal Varg Cooperative Society, for alleged irregularities with LDA officials. The Principal Secretary Housing has been asked to provide details of the documents related to the case.
