Jaipur: Reliance Jio continues to lead the telecom sector in Rajasthan, strengthening its position with a net addition of 1.43 lakh subscribers in April 2025, according to the latest data released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). Jio’s subscriber base in the state now stands at an impressive 2.65 crore, reaffirming its status as the number one operator in the region.
Jio’s Growth Amid Competitors’ Decline
While Jio posted positive growth, rival operators struggled to retain their customer base. Bharti Airtel lost 36,804 users, Vodafone Idea saw a sharp decline of 50,461 subscribers, and BSNL shed 8,234 customers during the same period. Despite these losses, Rajasthan’s overall wireless subscriber base rose by 48,142 in April, bringing the total to 6.46 crore.
As per TRAI figures, Bharti Airtel is the second-largest telecom operator in Rajasthan with 2.33 crore subscribers. Vodafone Idea follows with 91.22 lakh users, while BSNL accounts for 56.26 lakh.
Jio remains the only operator offering seamless 4G and 5G connectivity across all districts of Rajasthan, a key factor driving its continued growth.
Jio AirFiber Leads 5G FWA Segment
Jio is also leading the charge in the 5G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) space, marketed under the brand name Jio AirFiber. In April alone, Jio added 42,104 new 5G FWA subscribers in Rajasthan, far outpacing Airtel, which managed to add only 9,364 users.
With these additions, Jio’s 5G FWA user base in the state has reached 3.42 lakh, commanding over 80% of the market share. Airtel’s total 5G FWA base stands at 83,107. Overall, the 5G FWA subscriber count in Rajasthan has surpassed 4.25 lakh, showcasing growing consumer demand for high-speed, last-mile internet connectivity.
Market Outlook
Jio’s aggressive expansion in both mobile and fixed wireless broadband segments underscores its commitment to digital inclusivity across Rajasthan. The operator’s consistent subscriber gains and dominance in the 5G space position it as the primary driver of the state’s telecom growth in the near term.
