The soaring prices of sacrificial animals in Pakistan ahead of Eid-ul-Adha have left citizens distressed, especially the middle class, for whom fulfilling the religious obligation of sacrifice is becoming increasingly difficult. Amid this inflation crisis, celebrities have also begun speaking out.

Popular actor Bilal Qureshi shared his views on social media, stressing that the true essence of sacrifice lies in sincerity and devotion to God, not in public display or extravagance.“The purpose of sacrifice is not to show off, but to please Allah with pure intentions,” he wrote.

Expressing concern over the growing trend of flaunting expensive animals, Bilal added:“I don’t know when we’ll understand that as long as people keep buying sacrificial animals to show off, prices will keep rising.”

His post triggered widespread discussion online, with many social media users agreeing with his stance. One user noted: “People are more interested in announcing the price of the animal than in the sacrifice itself. The first thing everyone asks is, ‘How much did it cost?’”

This reflects a broader issue: the spirit of sacrifice is increasingly being overshadowed by materialism, making it harder for the middle class to participate in this religious tradition due to rising costs.

As inflation continues to weigh heavily on everyday life, the commercialization of religious practices is becoming an alarming trend in Pakistani society.

Earlier, Pakistani celebrity couple Aroosa and Bilal Qureshi recently celebrated the fourth birthday of their son Romaan with great enthusiasm.

Aroosa Qureshi is a well-known actress and model who has showcased her acting skills in dramas such as Mainu Ka Susral, Daagh, and Sartaj Mera Tu Raaj. For her exceptional performance, she was also nominated for Best Soap Actress at the 4th Hum Awards.

Bilal Qureshi, who recently shared moments lost in the beauty of Attabad Lake with his wife, tied the knot with Aroosa Qureshi on February 14, 2015, in a love marriage. The couple has two sons together.

Bilal is knowledge for his roles in popular dramaas such as bechari Qudsiya, Ae Dil Tu Bata, and Teri Behen hasi.
