
Popular Pakistani actor and singer Farhan Saeed is facing criticism after wearing an outfit designed by an Indian brand, sparking a wave of backlash across social media platforms.
Currently busy promoting his upcoming film Shamsheer, Farhan recently appeared at a promotional event dressed in a unique Western-style ensemble. According to Instagram posts and tags, the outfit was designed by an Indian fashion designer.
The choice of attire has not gone unnoticed — not only have social media users voiced their disapproval, but several public figures have also commented on the matter.
Among them, podcaster Adnan Faisal criticized the actor, stating:
“At a time when tensions between Pakistan and India are high, Farhan Saeed is promoting an Indian designer brand. I believe it’s time we come out of the Bollywood hangover.”
The incident has reignited debate over cross-border cultural endorsements, especially during politically sensitive times.
Earlier, Pakistani artist and actor Farhan Saeed has publicly rebuked Indian media for its relentless negative narratives against Pakistan and for propagating enmity in the wake of the recent Pahalgam incident.
Farhan Saeed, who rose to fame not only in Pakistan but even in India by starring in popular dramas such as Humsafar and Suno Chanda, was one of the first Pakistani celebrities to mourn the tragedy that occurred on April 23 in Indian-held Kashmir. The attack left 26 tourists dead and 12 injured.
Posting on Instagram, Farhan extended his deepest condolences to the families and victims of the attack. He wondered how this tragedy had happened in a region that is so heavily manned by Indian forces, implying that it indicated drastic failures in India’s own defense system.
