Amid the tensions between India and Pakistan ever since the Pahalgam terror attack, comedian Gaurav Gupta decided to roast a Pakistani fan who attended his stand-up comedy show during his US-Canada tour. During the show, he was seen asking the Pakistani fan to recite Hanuman Chalisa and also took a dig at him and his country over the Kashmir issue.

In a video that Gaurav himself shared on his Instagram handle, he can be seen looking surprised as soon as he got to know that there was a Pakistani national in the audience. While some members from the audience shouted "Sindoor", in reference to India's Operation Sindoor, the comedian asked them to "behave".

He then went on to address the fan directly and quipped, "Chalo Hanuman Chalisa padho ab. Padho, padho!" The crowd erupted into cheers, and the fan too was seen taking the situation lightheartedly.

Gaurav then asked the fan if he understood his jokes, and when he responded in affirmative, the former asked, "Toh tumhe samajh nahi aata, nahi milega tumhe? Itne saalon se keh rahe hain nahi milega, nahi milega, phir aa jaate ho tum," in reference to India and Pakistan's longstanding Kashmir issue.

He later thanked the fan for attending his show, adding, "Brother, you have guts to come here. He thought artists were banned, but audience is still allowed!"

As the video went viral, netizens were left in splits over Gaurav's presence of mind and comic timing. Some also appreciated the fan for taking the roast in good humour.

Meanwhile, Pakistani artists have been completely banned from working in India. Not just that, but Pakistani shows, movies and songs have also been removed from the Indian versions of the platforms like YouTube and Spotify. The social media handles of Pakistani artists and celebs have also been banned in India.
